Hi Mr. Gomez here! I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and did both my undergraduate and graduate degrees here. I received my Bachelors of Arts in History with a Secondary Teaching Certification from the University of Texas at San Antonio and my Masters in Science in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M San Antonio. I started my education career teaching social studies here at the Henry Ford Academy: Alameda School for Art + Design and for the past 3 years I have been the School Counselor, as well as the Senior Practicum Director. I have always viewed education as an opportunity to create positive, progressive change in someone’s life and thankfully here at HFA we have the unique opportunity to work with students closely to accomplish that goal. I love the fact that we make a conscious effort through our community engagement, extracurricular organizations and classroom activities to ensure our students are mastering content that will prepare them for higher education while at the same time fostering their development as people who will engage the world around them purposefully. I get to have a direct opportunity to assist students in creating a meaningful life for themselves and for that I am grateful to be part of the Henry Ford Academy: Alameda School for Art + Design.
