I’d like to thank the entire Staff, Student Body, and HFA Alameda Community for welcoming me into their hearts and lives. I am both humbled and honored. While I cannot replace Ms Cantu, I will work diligently, encouraging 1% more each day. Students from all over, including ones not in Photography, Entrepreneurship, Art 2 & 3, or Printmaking, have stopped by to smile and extend good wishes. 

After over 20 years of teaching k-12, certified in all subject areas, I left Illinois to pursue a dream teaching ESL abroad, at the Defense Language Institute, JBSA. Substituting gave me some freedom for time with Master’s. As a mother – kids and spouses are thriving in their own right, an artist – oils and ceramics were a primary focus – traveller, multicultural, and sports enthusiast, I anticipate the active participation and growth ahead. Ms Cantu paved a beautiful legacy!
