Social Studies Teacher (World Geography, World History, US History, Government and Economics)
I am from Birmingham, Alabama where I attended the public school system. After serving four years in
the Marine Corps overseas with US diplomatic missions I returned to my hometown to complete a
bachelors degree in History and Political Science at the University of Alabama – Birmingham. Following
a short time with state law-enforcement I attended the US Army Officer Candidate School and was
commissioned. After 16 years in the Army, eight of which were in Germany, I retired from active duty in
San Antonio in 1996. Since that time I have been a classroom teacher in grades 4 through 12 and an
adjunct instructor for St. Philip’s College.
My sons Ethan and Joshua are here with me as a freshman and sophomore, and I look forward to the
coming year here at the Henry Ford Academy.
